Family Life…

Many of you may know me from my music, TV hosting, rodeo career, or fitness program, but above all, I am a wife and mother. My husband, Tyson Durfey, is the 2016 World Champion Tie-Down Roper and truly an incredible man. We were married in 2013, and in September 2016, we were overjoyed to welcome our first daughter, Praise Royal, into the world. Two years later, our second daughter, Risyn Breeze, completed our family, and in 2021, we were blessed with our son, Tyen Cross. Family is everything, and it is the heart of everything I do.

TYSON DURFEY:

Tyson Durfey grew up in Savannah, Missouri, where he learned the ropes of ranching and horse training alongside his dad and brothers. His father, Roy, roped in the PRCA before transitioning to ranching and riding calf roping horses. Tyson’s older brothers, Travis and Wes, also roped calves, creating a strong family tradition in the sport.

At just nine years old, Tyson competed in his first rodeo, and by the time he turned eighteen, he was on the rodeo circuit full-time. His PRCA career began in 2003, and over the years, Tyson has climbed to the top of professional tie-down roping. Notable achievements include three Canadian World Championships (becoming the first non-Canadian to achieve this), winning “The American” Rodeo in 2014, qualifying for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) 13 times, and earning over a million dollars in PRCA winnings. His crowning achievement came in 2016 when he became a World Champion.

Tyson’s success in rodeo has earned him a reputation as one of the sport’s most respected athletes. He attributes much of his success to his strong work ethic and deep passion for the sport. He also believes his platform should be used to give back, and he actively supports various charitable causes, particularly those focused on breast cancer research. His signature pink shirt is worn to raise awareness and show support for those battling the disease.

Outside the arena, Tyson channels his business acumen into growing his wife Shea’s company, Shea Michelle Buckles, as well as public speaking and promoting his sponsors. He met Shea at Rodeo Houston in 2011, and their instant connection led to their marriage on October 6, 2013. Together, they live near Weatherford, Texas, where they stay busy by working out, training young horses, and building their business.

Career Highlights:

  • 2016 World Champion Tie-Down Roper
  • 2016 Houston Rodeo Champion
  • 2015 Columbia River Circuit Champion
  • 2014 “The American” Rodeo Winner
  • 13-time NFR Qualifier
